What is the Medical Missions Foundation (MMF)?

MEDICAL MISSIONS FOUNDATION (MMF) is a Trust Fund set up in 2003 by the Christian Medical and Dental Fellowship, Singapore (CMDF) to support the growing number of medical and dental graduates serving as cross-cultural missionaries in 3rd world countries and doing medical or church-planting work.

The MMF supplements the efforts of the missions agency and the local church by providing some financial grants to doctors in the field. The annual grant varies according to individual needs and disbursement depends on availability of funds.

MMF does not involve itself in the work and ministry of the missionary doctors, as it believes this is the task of the sending agency. It concentrates on raising support and keeping doctors on the home-front informed. As such, it does not delve into member-care as this is best done by the missionary organisation and the home church. The committee, however, attempts to keep in touch and to minister informally.

We pray that MMF efforts will be our expression of support and encouragement extended by Christian doctors to their fellow doctors in missions.
